The airport is located approximately five kilometres north-west of the town of Stokmarknes, and connected to the town via the Hadsel Bridge. Currently Widerøe, a Norwegian regional airline, is the only operator with a license for operating at Stokmarknes. Widerøe offers direct scheduled flights from both Tromsø and Bødø.
